Hope’s Accounting Officer is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget management, and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of financial best practices within the educational technology and consulting industry.
You will play a critical role in financial planning, reporting, and ensuring financial integrity across Mavin’s business operations. You will work closely with internal teams, including finance, legal, business development, and marketing, to ensure smooth financial processes and adherence to company objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Associate Chartered Accountant.
- 4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the development of financial models to support business decision-making.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.

Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
- Assist in financial planning to optimize company resources and maximize profitability.

Accounts Management & Reconciliation
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in compliance with company policies.
- Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely payment processing and financial record-keeping.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing necessary documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations affecting the educational technology and consulting industry.

Financial Strategy & Business Support
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with business units to evaluate financial impacts of new projects and investments.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial efficiencies.
